Man sustains serious head injuries in alleged assault

Police received a call claiming there had been an incident in the Railway Street area of Strabane

A man received head serious injuries following an alleged assault in Strabane in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Officers received a report at approximately 02:10 BST that a man had been assaulted in the Railway Street area of the County Tyrone town.

He was then taken to hospital where he continues to be treated.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information.
