Roads closed and arrests made in town incident

Police and other emergency services dealt with the incident in the town centre

Roads were closed and arrests made as police dealt with an incident that began in a town centre on Saturday night.

Police were initially called to a fight in Grosvenor Road in Lowestoft, Suffolk, at about 18:45 BST on Saturday.

A man and a teenage boy were subsequently arrested and remain in custody.

Closures were put in place on St John's Road and Mill Road on Sunday, but the area has now reopened and a further man has been arrested.

Suffolk Police said the ongoing incident was "safely resolved" at about 10:20 on Sunday.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, robbery, assaulting police officers and criminal damage.

Two other people, a man, 40, and a boy, 13, were arrested in connection with the incident on Saturday and both remain in custody.
