Tunbridge Wells is the only part of Kent with elections this time around

Polling stations in Tunbridge Wells have opened for the 2026 local elections.

A third of the seats on Tunbridge Wells Borough Council are being contested. Borough councils elect a third of their councillors each time.

There are no county council elections in Kent this year. They were held in 2025. Tunbridge Wells is the only district or borough authority with elections in the county.

People can cast their votes from 07:00 until 22:00 BST. The results are due to be announced at 16:00 on Friday.

Residents in Tunbridge Wells had the option to begin voting on Saturday - five days sooner than almost every other part of the country.

The town was one of four areas of the country chosen to take part in an early-voting trial.
