Disabled teenager demands change over 'dangerous roads'

A disabled teenager said a simple visit to a local shop in Liverpool is "really dangerous" due to a lack of dropped kerbs.

Jack, 14, who was born with cerebral palsy and uses an electric wheelchair, is lobbying Liverpool City Council to make changes near his home in Everton.

He told the BBC: "I've got speeding cars coming down Mere Lane and I have to use every technique I know for me and my mum to get round it."

A Liverpool city council spokesperson said while they did not currently have capacity to do this, they would consider future requests "where funding permits".
