Watch: Teen driver does 125mph during police pursuit
A teenager drove at more than 100mph (161km/h) as he attempted to get away from police during a pursuit in Peterborough.
Zachary Hassan, 18, of Lythemere, Orton Malborne, in Peterborough, was spotted speeding in a Ford Kuga on Fletton High Street at about 02:00 BST on 23 May. Police said he had driven at about 125mph (201km/h) as he tried to evade capture and had also reached 65mph (105km/h) in a 30mph (48km/h) zone.
He had gone the wrong way around a roundabout and ignored red lights, officers added. When the pursuit ended in Huntsman's Gate, Bretton, he fled and was later arrested while hiding in a bush.
Hassan admitted dangerous driving and other driving and drug offences at Peterborough Magistrates' Court on Monday. He was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison, suspended for a year, and was also disqualified from driving for a year.
