Battle of Britain Spitfire flies over museum

Crowds at the RAF Museum Midlands in Shropshire, as well as those living nearby, got the chance to see a Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight fly overhead on Sunday.

The plane was a last-minute change instead of the previously publicised Dakota, officials said.

The aircraft made three flypasts over the Cosford site from about 14:08 BST before heading off back to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.

The museum said, ahead of the visit, that the flypast was an "extra special treat" for visitors who could also experience its RAF aircraft up close.
