Watch: Key moments from Karoline Leavitt's White House tenure

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will step down from her role at the end of August to spend time with her young children and family, after welcoming her second child in May.

"Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party," President Donald Trump wrote in a social media post announcing her departure.

Leavitt became the youngest press secretary in the country's history when she took the job in January 2025 at age 27.
