Oadby: Plan approved for new school sports hall
GoogleA Leicestershire school is set to build a new sports hall to help it cope with growing pupil numbers.
Manor High School in Oadby has been told it needs to create space for 150 pupils by Leicestershire County Council.
But its sports hall is considered to be "insufficient" to cope with the extra children who would use it.
The school has now been granted permission to build a new two-storey hall by Harborough District Council.
It will be funded through Section 106 contributions from developers which have built new houses in the area, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
The hall will be suitable for a range of sports including badminton, basketball and five-a-side football and may be used by the local community out of school hours.
