Disruption warning after flat fire in town centre
GoogleFirefighters have advised motorists to avoid part of Loughborough town centre following a fire at a flat.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said it received a call at 12:48 BST on Monday about a flat fire above Heavenly Desserts in Baxter Gate.
The service said crews from Shepshed, Birstall, Loughborough and Western fire stations were in attendance, alongside Leicestershire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service.
It added people were initially reported at the scene, but it has been confirmed that all people have been accounted for. The service said the cause of the fire was not yet known.
Bus firm Kinchbus said due to a fire, buses could not serve High Street or Baxter Gate, and advised customers to use the stop in Jubilee Way.
A spokesperson for the fire service said the fire remained an "ongoing incident" and advised motorists to expect delays.
