Car driver dies in crash with two vans

A car driver has died and a van driver has been seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash.

Emergency services were called to the collision on the A386 near Okehampton, Devon, involving two vans and a BMW car at about 13:50 BST on Tuesday.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the 33-year-old male driver of the BMW, from the Okehampton area, died at the scene. The driver of a Ford Transit van, a 74-year-old man from the Bude area in Cornwall, was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with serious injuries. The driver of a Citroen van was uninjured.

Police have appealed for information and dashcam footage following the incident between Hatherleigh and Folly Gate.

The road was closed for a number of hours while officers conducted a forensic investigation of the scene.
