Former MSP's drink-driving case delayed
Getty ImagesA former Labour MSP facing charges of drink driving has had his case delayed for four weeks.
Colin Smyth represented the south of Scotland before he was suspended from the party last year.
He is facing allegations that he was driving at excessive speed when he mounted the pavement narrowly missing a pedestrian and collided with a parked car and bollards.
The offences are alleged to have taken place on the High Street in Edinburgh last year.
The charges also claim he was more than twice the legal alcohol limit. Smyth was not at Edinburgh Sheriff Court to enter a plea.
