Road closure continues after water main burst
A main road remains closed after a water pipe burst on Saturday.
Pools and streams of water were pictured near the burst on the A3051 at YMCA Fairthorne Manor in Hampshire.
During repairs on Monday night, a fountain of water erupted from the road before being brought under control by engineers.
Southern Water said the road between Curbridge and Botley was scheduled to reopen "before the end of the week".
Anne SmallA spokesperson said: "Our teams have repaired a burst water main on the Botley Road, Southampton, which started on 2 May.
"The temporary road closure will be in place until engineers finish the reinstatement work.
"We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused residents and commuters during this time, and we thank them for their patience."
YMCA Fairthorne Manor can still be accessed by car from the Botley end of the A3051.
The road is due to be closed again from 22 May to 1 June for work to construct the new Botley bypass.
