Police are appealing for information after a 17-year-old driver was seriously injured in a car crash on the Black Isle near Inverness.

The black Lexus was found in a field next to the A832 road about a mile east of Tore at about 21:40 on Sunday.

The teenager was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The road was closed at the scene of the crash for almost 10 hours while an investigation was carried out. It has since reopened.

Sgt Neil MacDonald has appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Meanwhile, the A82 has been closed in both directions three miles north of the junction with the A86 at Spean Bridge following a crash.

Emergency services were alerted at about 12:05.

Road users have been advised to avoid the area.
