A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident at a shopping mall.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a 19-year old was charged after a teenage boy was found with knife wounds to his neck at Drake Circus shopping centre in Plymouth at about 17:20 BST on Friday. The wounded male was taken to the city's Derriford Hospital and later discharged.

Tyke Lowe, of Grafton Road, Plymouth, had been charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife in a public place, and was due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Monday, officers said.

A woman in her 30s from Plymouth was arrested in connection with the incident and had been released without charge, they added.
