Driver in her 80s dies after tree crash

A woman has died in hospital two days after her car hit a tree in a village in Leicestershire.

Police said officers were called to the crash involving a Ford Fiesta in Main Street, Cold Overton, at about 17:20 BST on Tuesday.

The driver, who was in her 80s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance but died on Thursday, the force said.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing and officers have appealed for witnesses.
