Murder charge almost one year on from man's death

A man has been charged with murder almost a year after the body of another man was found in the street in Rotherham.

Garry Claydon, 54, died after he was found unresponsive in Waddington Way, Parkgate on the morning of 1 June.

South Yorkshire Police said Wayne White, also 54, of Shakespeare Road, Rotherham, had been charged with his murder.

White appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Thursday and was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday.
