Keanu Taylor was killed at the shooting in Coldharbour Lane

The family of a 25-year-old man who was fatally shot at a barbecue in Brixton have said their "hearts are absolutely broken" by the loss of a man who was "loved by everyone".

Keanu Taylor was killed after multiple shots were fired in Coldharbour Lane at about 01:15 BST on 2 May.

Three others, aged 21, 47 and 70, were taken to hospital where their injuries were assessed as not life‑threatening or life‑changing.

Emergency services arrived at the scene within minutes, but Taylor later died in hospital from his injuries. No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.

In a statement released through the Metropolitan Police, Taylor's family said: "Keanu was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson and friend.

"He was loved by everyone and his smile would light up a room.

"Keanu had the world at his feet, and he's left a huge hole in our family. Our hearts are absolutely broken."

On Saturday evening, several police officers were seen searching an area of grass outside the Southwyck House estate in Coldharbour Lane.

Det Ch Insp Allam Bhangoo said it was "a shocking act of violence which has had a devastating impact on those involved and the local community".
