Police dog helps officers catch criminal in cemetery
A police dog helped officers catch a criminal who had fled through a cemetery.
Echo and Sgt Charlie Winchester were deployed to locate Carl Isham, 41, who had fled from officers moments earlier. When they arrived at the cemetery in East Cowes, Echo immediately picked up a scent.
Isham, of St Edmunds Walk, Wootton Bridge, Ryde, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and harassment without violence at Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on April 16.
He was handed a 13-week prison sentence, suspended for 16 months. He was also given a restraining order and was ordered to complete 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days, as well as pay £554 in costs and surcharge.
