Man accused of murdering neighbour to face retrial

A man accused of stabbing his neighbour to death in a row over noise is due to face a retrial in November.

Andrew Greengrass, 36, admitted unlawfully killing Nigel Booth, 67, in his flat on Foundry Road, Stamford, in October 2025 but denies murder, claiming he had lost self-control.

Following a two-week trial earlier this month at Lincoln Crown Court, jurors failed to reach a verdict on the murder charge and were discharged by the judge.

On Monday, prosecutors told the court they had decided to pursue a second trial against Greengrass on the same charge.

Judge Simon Hirst adjourned the case for a trial beginning on 16 November.

Greengrass, who remains in custody, is due to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing on 23 October.
