Man charged with murder after street stabbing
BBC/Louise HobsonA man has been charged with murder after a street stabbing.
A 31-year-old man was found seriously injured Yarm Lane in Stockton-on-Tees on Wednesday night, at the junction with Lawrence Street, and died in hospital a short time later.
Richard Shaw, 49, of Leybourne Terrace was also charged with separate offences of sexual assault, possession of a bladed article in public and assault by beating of an emergency worker, Cleveland Police said.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court later.
Officers were called to the junction at about 21:50 BST and the 31-year-old was taken to James Cook University Hospital, where he later died.
