Driver in critical condition after crash with JCB

A driver is in a critical condition after his car and a JCB crashed into one another in Kent.

The blue BMW was heading towards Bethersden when it struck the yellow JCB lift truck, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Kent Police was called to the A28 Ashford Road, between the Kiln Lane and Bethersden Road junctions, at about 21:40 BST on Thursday.

Firefighters and the ambulance service were on the scene too.

The BMW driver, a man in his 30s, was airlifted to a London hospital. His next of kin has been told.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
