Shoppers evacuated after vehicle fire at Tesco car park in Glasgow

Shoppers and staff have been evacuated after a vehicle blaze in a car park at a supermarket in Glasgow.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said two fire engines were sent to the Tesco Extra store on Maryhill Road at about 16:20.

Footage shared on social media showed a black car engulfed in flames in the corner of the covered parking area, beneath the shop floor.

Large clouds of black smoke were seen filling the car park and spilling out onto Maryhill Road.

A SFRS spokesperson said: "There are no reported casualties and crews remain at the scene."

Tesco has been approached for comment.
