Family's 'beloved' gran at centre of murder probe
Family photographThe family of a woman whose death prompted a murder investigation said she was a "beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend".
Tracy McCormack, 55, from Litherland, was found dead inside a house on St Ambrose Croft in Netherton, at about 10:00 BST on Sunday, Merseyside Police said.
The force said "at this stage" her death was being treated as unexplained and enquiries were "ongoing" to determine the full circumstances of how she died with a post-mortem examination set to be carried out.
A 30-year-old woman from Netherton arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail while enquiries continue, it added.
'Devastating loss'
Paying tribute, her family said: "She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
"Our family kindly asks for privacy during difficult time as we grieve this devastating loss."
Detectives are carrying out several lines of enquiry and are appealing for anyone who has information which will help with the investigation to come forward.
Det Ch Insp Alan Nuttall said: "Our thoughts continue to be with Tracy's family at this tragic time and they are being supported by our family liaison officers.
"Although we have arrested a person in connection with the investigation, we continue to appeal for anyone with information to please contact us."
He added: "Any information no matter how small will assist with our enquiries."
