A business owner in Guernsey is appealing for CCTV footage after his honesty box was ripped apart.

James Manger owner of the Blue Chicken House Bakery in St Peter Port is asking anyone who lives near Doyle Road to get in touch if they have footage or saw anything on the overnight of Thursday 25 June.

The incident saw the cash box torn out of the wall, the card reader and CCTV camera stolen and hundreds of pounds worth of damage was caused.

Police are investigating a supected case of theft and vandalism.

Manger says: "Our honesty box was built on trust, using cookies made with Guernsey butter and Guernsey eggs. It's something we're incredibly proud of, and it's sad to think that one selfish act could put things like this at risk.

The honesty box is currently closed following the incident, which has been reported to the police.

On a social media post Manger said: "If you have any footage, remember seeing anything unusual or know someone nearby with cameras, please send us a message. Even something that seems insignificant could make all the difference".
