Outdoor market faces temporary closure
CJ's Events Warwickshire LimitedAn outdoor market in Royal Leamington Spa is set to temporary close.
Owners of Leamington Market have acted because they said traders have been experiencing reduced footfall.
CJ's Events Warwickshire Limited said the market will be taking a "short break" from 6 June while it, alongside Warwick District Council, carries out a review of its operations.
A statement said following the market's relaunch in August, it initially saw a strong number of stalls - but footfall dropped off last winter. It currently takes place every Friday between 10:00 and 16:00, on Holly Walk.
Organisers have confirmed it will still be open for business on 22 and 29 May.
A spokesperson for CJ's Events said: "Since relaunching in August 2025, the market initially saw strong stall numbers, however these unfortunately declined over the winter period, making it difficult to rebuild momentum alongside reduced footfall.
"This temporary pause will give us the opportunity to gather feedback, review what's working well, identify improvements, and put together a strong plan for the future of the market.
"We'd like to thank everyone who has supported the market so far, and we hope to welcome you back to Holly Walk soon."
The BBC has contacted Warwick District Council for comment.
