Ex-officer would have been sacked for drink driving
BBCA former police constable who was caught drink driving would have been sacked had he not already resigned, a misconduct hearing has heard.
Nottinghamshire Police said Fraser Dunbar was arrested on suspicion of drink driving on 5 June, after tests showed he had 51 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, compared with a legal limit of 35 micrograms.
At Derby Magistrates' Court on 1 July, Dunbar, 42, pleaded guilty to drink driving and was banned for 12 months and fined £300.
On Friday, an accelerated misconduct hearing at the force's headquarters at Sherwood Lodge found he had breached the standards of professional behaviour.
Chief Constable Steve Cooper, who chaired the hearing, said: "Anyone who is caught drink driving while on or off duty can expect to be dealt with robustly as this case clearly demonstrates."
Dunbar has been placed on the police barred list, the force added.
