New operator announced for former NCP car park

A new operator has been announced for a car park in Hinckley previously operated by National Car Parks (NCP) before the firm went into administration.

Britannia Shopping Centre took over management of its car park in March after NCP's administrator PwC announced it was among a tranche of 22 sites nationally that would close after being deemed unviable.

Hinckley Business Improvement District (BID) said in March the car park would remain free until further notice and discussions were ongoing with alternative operators.

On Thursday it said car parking technology company Hozah would take over operation of the site with its system due to go live on 6 August.

Hinckley BID said to help with the transition, the Hozah team would be on-site at the Britannia Shopping Centre from 5 August to 8 August.

In a statement on social media, it added the company was taking on a "full refresh" of the site and tariffs would offer "genuine value".
