Signs to be reviewed after damage complaints

Signs in public parks and seafronts are to be reviewed after concerns were raised about damage and deterioration.

A meeting of North East Lincolnshire Council heard that residents had complained about the condition of signage, including at People's Park in Grimsby.

Councillor Robson Augusta said a sign in the park had been "ripped in half".

In response, councillor Henry Hudson, portfolio holder for the environment and net zero, said: "We're looking at all the signage across the parks, all of the way up the seafront."

"It's all under review and People's Park in particular is going to get a visit in February," he added.

Augusta told the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) that he had emailed council officers back in August to raise the signage and decided to put the question due to lack of information he had so far received.

"Some of the signs are starting to delaminate," he said.

"This is meant to be our premier park in the town."

While he told the LDRS he was happy to hear of the signage review, he added: "We shouldn't let signs get into this position and then it be further delayed by a borough-wide review."
