The family of a man who disappeared nearly eight years ago say they remain "desperate for answers".

Steven Durand, from Preston, Lancashire, was reported missing by them on 28 October 2018.

The 31-year-old was last seen by his family in Chorley nine days earlier. Police believe he travelled by train from Chorley to Manchester.

The family have released a video to appeal for Steven's safe return. His niece Ayesha said: "I was only 12 at the time, but I'm glad that I got to spend those years with him. It's just not the same without him."

Steven's family said: "We love him very much and he's in our hearts and thoughts forever.

"All his family are missing him so much.

"We're desperate for answers.

"We hope he's safe and sees this appeal."

Despite sightings in Manchester on 20 October 2018, all communication and financial activity ceased, the Missing People charity said.

Steven's last confirmed movements were captured on CCTV at a Bargain Booze store on Bolton Road in Swinton at 07:00, and later at the Premier store on Agecroft Road in Pendlebury at 11:00.

Steven, who has mild cerebral palsy and walks with a limp, is described as mixed race, 5ft 10in (1.8m) tall, of medium to stocky build and with cropped dark hair.
