Police are trying to trace a man who left Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) with "significant" head injuries before treatment.

Nottinghamshire Police said a member of public came across the man at the University Boulevard junction of Jesse Boot Avenue, on the border of the University Park Campus in Nottingham, at 22:30 BST on Saturday.

He was taken to the QMC but left before being assessed, the force said.

Despite "extensive inquiries" to identify and locate him, including studying CCTV footage, police released his image on Monday in a bid to find him.

Inspector Andrew Hallam said: "We are concerned for this man's safety and we would encourage him or anyone who knows the identify of the man pictured to please come forward."
