Tributes have been left at the scene where a man died after being stabbed at a pub in Sutton Coldfield.

Flowers and cards were laid at the Beggars Bush pub on Chester Road, where the man, who was in his 20s, was fatally injured in the car park.

Emergency services were called to the venue shortly before 02:00 BST on Sunday, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

West Midlands Police are continuing a murder investigation and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Detectives believe a large number of people were at the pub for an event at the time of the stabbing and have launched a dedicated online portal for anyone with footage or information that could help their inquiries.

A police cordon remained in place around the scene, while officers have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the local community, a spokesperson said.
