Police have launched an investigation after "high value" fish were stolen from a garden pond in Caithness.

Officers believe the koi carp were removed in two separate thefts from the secure pond in Lybster overnight between 25 and 26 April and in the early hours of 29 April.

The full cost of the colourful cold-water fish has not been disclosed, but some koi carp sell for hundreds of pounds.

Police Scotland asked anyone with information or CCTV footage from the area to contact them.
