Three people have been arrested following two separate arson attacks in County Tyrone.

Police attended the scene of a fire at a property in Gortgonis Terrace, Coalisland, at about 23:40 BST on Sunday.

The fire was deliberately started in a bin which had been placed by a shed at the property. Some damage was caused to the shed door, along with smoke damage inside the shed, however, there was no further damage reported.

In Cookstown, police received a report of a vacant property on fire in Coolnafranky Park. The fire was contained to the living room area, with smoke damage caused to the adjoining rooms. There was no one in either property at the time of the fires and no injuries were reported.

That fire is also being treated as deliberate.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended both scenes and extinguished the fires.

In Coalisland, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson.

In Cookstown, two men, aged 20 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of offences including arson being reckless as to whether life would be endangered. .
