Seven people taken to hospital after A96 crash

Seven people have been taken to hospital after a crash closed the A96 in Aberdeenshire.

The three-vehicle collision happened near Huntly, by the Portsoy junction, shortly before 07:00.

Five ambulances, an air ambulance and two special operations response teams were dispatched to the scene, along with fire and police crews.

Five patients were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, including two by air ambulance, and two were taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin.

Police have advised drivers to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
