Girl, 11, sexually assaulted near playground
GoogleAn investigation has been launched after an 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted near a playground.
Avon and Somerset Police said the incident happened in a wooded area close to the Clarks Way playground in Odd Down, Bath, on Wednesday.
Officers said the suspect was described as a white man with a "distinctive" neck tattoo, aged approximately in his 30s or 40s. He was said to be wearing a T-shirt, shorts and a cap at the time.
Det Insp Hannah Marsh said: "This is an incredibly serious incident and a significant amount of resources are in place to support our investigation and we are prioritising efforts to identify the offender."
Avon and Somerset Police said extra patrols and house-to-house enquiries were being carried out in the area while CCTV footage would continue to be reviewed.
