E-scooter driver dies after collision with car

A person driving an e-scooter has died after a collision with a car in the Republic of Ireland.

The crash happened on the Kentstown Road, Navan, County Meath at about 01:45 local time on Sunday.

Gardaí (Irish police) said the e-scooter driver, who was male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, and a passenger in his 20s were uninjured.

The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
