Sark School's former head teacher Michelle Brady was suspended in March

The head teacher of an island's only school "is no longer employed" at the site, the government has said.

Michelle Brady was suspended from Sark School in March after an investigation was launched.

In an update, the Chief Pleas' Education Committee said it was committed to fostering a robust safeguarding culture at the school and it "keeps the wellbeing of its pupils at the centre of their considerations".

The committee said Simon Smith, who took on the interim head teacher job after Brady's suspension, will continue in the same role and it would not make any further comment. Brady could not be reached for comment.
