Free period products at a football ground will help women visiting to feel "welcome and comfortable".

Bristol Rovers has partnered with Her Game Too to bring the free products to the Memorial Stadium.

Chloe Watts, from Her Game Too, who is also a lifelong Bristol Rovers fan, said: "Access to period products should never be a barrier to enjoying football."

Mitch Waddon, head of media and engagement, said the initiative was a "small but significant step" to help women "enjoy their matchday experience".

"Removing some of the uncertainty around access to period products is an important part of that," he continued.

According to the football club, 78.3% of female fans experience some stress or anxiety about not knowing whether period products will be available in stadium bathrooms, while 44.3% said concerns about periods or period products have affected their enjoyment of the match.

By making free period products readily available throughout the stadium, the club said it hoped it would remove barriers that can affect female supporters' enjoyment of the match.
