The area around the Great Tythe Barn had to be evacuated after suspected World War Two bombs were found

A wedding venue has had to close and nearby properties have been evacuated after five suspected bombs from World War Two were discovered.

The suspected explosives were found by construction workers digging in a planned solar panel field at about 09:30 GMT, Gloucestershire Police said.

A 200m (about 660ft) area was cordoned off, and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team detonatedthe items with two controlled explosions.

Megan Fletcher, sales and marketing executive at the Great Tythe Barn, said she saw the explosions happen and that it was "a really loud bang". She said there were no weddings or any events scheduled at the venue.
