A pump track sees riders use momentum to get around rather than pedalling

Residents are being asked for their opinions on adding a pump track next to a new skate park which is being created in Surrey.

Surrey Heath Borough Council is considering adding the track, where people use momentum to get around instead of pedalling, alongside the new park at Crabtree Recreation Ground in Camberley.

In September, £300,000 was reserved for a new pump track with the condition a consultation was carried out.

Councillor Morgan Rise said adding a pump track at the site could be "another exciting addition to our leisure facilities" in the borough and it was "well-placed to attract a wide reach of users".

The council added that the track could create an accessible larger-wheeled sports facility for the local community.

The money reserved for the track is from the Community Infrastructure Levy Fund, which is made up of charges on some new developments which councils can use to fund local infrastructure.

The consultation closes on 3 December.
