A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a tractor near Barnsley.

Emergency services were called to Copster Lane, in Thurgoland, at about 19:15 BST on Wednesday, following reports of the crash.

The 44-year-old rider was treated by ambulance crews but died at the scene, South Yorkshire Police said. His family has been informed.

The tractor driver remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their inquiries, the force said. Anyone with information or footage of what happened is urged to contact police.
