M5 closed in both directions for police incident

Police said they had closed the M5 between junctions 30 and 31 at 03:50 BST on Monday

A section of the M5 has been closed for several hours while police manage an incident.

The motorway was closed in both directions between junction 30 for Exeter and junction 31 for Okehampton at 03:50 BST.

Devon and Cornwall Police said multiple road diversions had been put in place and asked motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

Officers added they would update the public as soon as the incident had been resolved.
