Boy, 4, abducted from park and found in woodland
GoogleA four-year-old boy was abducted in a park while his mother tended to a baby and was missing for several minutes before being found nearby, police say.
They are appealing for information about what happened near the fish pond in Haden Hill Park, Halesowen Road, in Cradley Heath, near Dudley, on Thursday.
West Midlands Police said the reported abduction happened as the child's mother was tending to the baby at 15:00 BST and the four-year-old was later found in a woodland close by.
The person alleged to be involved was described as being in his late teens, black, short in height and with curled hair.
He was clean shaven and wore black clothing.
"We believe this is an isolated incident but we understand how concerning it is and understand the impact it will have in the area and to the local community," a spokesperson for the force said.
Extra officers remained in the area on Friday to offer reassurance to the local community.
The force said they were reviewing CCTV footage from the area and appealed for witnesses to come forward or anyone with mobile phone footage taken in the park at the time.
