Murder investigation launched after man stabbed
BBCA murder investigation has been launched after a man who was found with a stab wound in Redditch, Worcestershire, died in hospital.
Police were called to Martley Close at about 08:35 BST on Tuesday following reports that a man had been stabbed.
The 41-year-old was found with a wound to his chest and was taken to hospital by paramedics but died a short time later, West Mercia Police said.
The force said they believed the stabbing took place in an underpass linking Longdon Close with Martley Close and Woodrow Centre. No arrests have been made.
Det Ch Insp Gareth Lougher said officers were quickly sent to Martley Close after reports of the attack.
"A man was found with a life-threatening injury. He sadly later passed away in hospital and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time," he added.
GoogleOfficers were carrying out house-to-house visits and reviewing CCTV footage, a spokesperson said. There will also be more patrols in the area for the next few days.
The victim was wearing dark clothing and might have been riding an e-scooter before he was stabbed, they added.
There were four cordons around the underpass on Tuesday afternoon, guarded by police officers.
Lougher added: "Information that may seem very small could be vital to us establishing how the victim came to suffer the fatal injury."
