Community groups can bid for cash from warehousing
GLPCharities, voluntary organisations, parish councils, sport and community groups have been asked to apply for a share of an £895,000 grant, secured from one of the UK's largest logistics parks.
North Northamptonshire Council said the cash was coming from the Magna Park Development Impact Fund. The park is an 80-hectare (198-acre) site on the outskirts of Corby.
The pot of money was secured from developer contributions and will be used to "support communities impacted by the major development", the council said.
Companies like Nike and Bleckmann are based on the park and it could see 7,000 people eventually employed there.
The council is looking for ideas that will "deliver lasting benefits for local communities".
The application deadline is 12 November.
Reform UK councillor Jan O'Hara, executive member for planning and economic growth, said it represented "a significant opportunity to invest directly in the communities most affected by this major development".
"We want to see ambitious and innovative projects that enhance community facilities, improve public spaces, support environmental initiatives and create lasting benefits for local residents," she said.
