Northampton Town Football Club has invited men wanting to become more active to join a 12-week health programme at its stadium.

Chances for Change will run on Thursday evenings between 24 September and 17 December at Sixfields Stadium.

The free sessions, which include physical activity and health education, are open to men aged 30 to 70 and with a BMI of 27.5 or above.

Akshay Mistry, health and wellbeing officer at the club's community trust, said participants would be given the tools for long-term health improvement.

"Chances for Change is about creating an inclusive and encouraging space where people can move at their own pace, learn practical skills and feel supported by others," he added.

The scheme was designed for people who may find mainstream exercise settings inaccessible or intimidating.

It would be an "updated and rebranded" version of the Fit Cobblers programme, the community trust said.
