Flats evacuated after motorbike set on fire inside building

Police are appealing for information after a motorbike was set on fire in a block of flats in Kilsyth in North Lanarkshire.

The incident happened at about 22:45 on Thursday in the common close of the building on Rennie Road.

The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and flats were evacuated as a precaution.

Det Con Gamberi said: "Luckily no-one was injured as a result, but this could've easily spread throughout the flat and caused significant damage."
