Crew member dies after being pulled from sea
Pat PriceA crew member from a boat rescued from the sea off the Norfolk coast has died.
Norfolk Police said it was called at 18:36 BST on Tuesday after a man in his 60s, on board a vessel at Caister-on-Sea, entered the water.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) said a person was located using the HM Coastguard's helicopter before being pulled from the water by the independent Caister Lifeboat team.
Police said crew members carried out CPR, until a coastguard helicopter was used to winch a paramedic on board.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Diana HareThe Caister Lifeboat was deployed at about 17:20 and a large emergency service response was reported by residents on social media.
The Winterton and Gorleston coastguard rescue teams were also sent to the scene.
The vessel has since been taken to Great Yarmouth and will remain in port under a police cordon while investigations continue.
Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious and a file was being prepared for the coroner.
