Arrest in sexual abuse probe linked to gymnastics venue
Getty ImagesA man has been arrested as part of a police investigation into allegations of historical sexual abuse linked to a gym in Cheshire.
The case is associated with Crewe and Nantwich Gymnastics on Camm Street in Crewe, Cheshire Police said.
The complaints pertained to a period in the 1980s and 1990s, a force spokesperson added, and did not involve the current team working there.
A 68-year-old man held on suspicion of indecent assault of a girl under 14 has since been released on conditional bail.
Det Insp Stuart York said he understood the concerns the investigation was likely to cause and appropriate safeguarding measures had been put in place.
Anyone with concerns or with information which might help the investigation should get in touch, he added.
