A West Mercia Police officer is to face a misconduct hearing after being accused of being a bully.

The unnamed officer is alleged to have behaved in an "abusive, hostile, oppressive, derogatory, intimidating and/or bullying manner" towards their colleague between March and April 2024.

It is also alleged the officer sought to influence their inspector's decision to move them to a different team, after they had started a romantic relationship with someone in the team, by making a number of statements which were untrue relating to their service in the military.

A gross misconduct hearing will take place next week at West Mercia Police's headquarters in Hindlip, Worcestershire.

Chaired by Deputy Chief Constable Damian Barratt, the five-day hearing will take place from October 12-16 and will determine whether Officer A breached authority, respect and courtesy, honesty and integrity, and discreditable conduct.

The police force confirmed the officer had been based in Shropshire.
